Dear book-lovers
HUM Naklada publishing company is an independent publishing company founded in 2000 with the purpose of promoting new and not-yet-established authors and visual artists as well as anthological Croatian and foreign authors and their works which have not been properly valorized. The editorial policy of HUM Naklada publishing company is based on a somewhat different approach towards Croatian and foreign literature - both in the selection of works and in the methodological treatment of our publications. We would like to call special attention to the works of domestic authors in the series A BLOSSOM BEYOND and to the works of foreign anthological authors from the SCENT OF ETERNITY and LETUSBE series in order to bring the reader closer to the timeliness and artistic value of the work, as well as to the importance of the writers in individual social situations and their inevitable role in the time in which we live.
On this occasion we would like to draw attention to the new books by Janosch and to new publications from the STORYLAND series.
Having an overview of the selection of children's literature published in the Croatian language and being familiar with the projects in Croatian publishing, our publishing house has committed itself to an entirely new quality as far as children's books go. Namely, after our longstanding analysis of Croatian children's literature we have reached the conclusion that there are great gaps in this area and that the quality of texts, which play one of the most important roles in the building up of a child-adult's character, is not high enough. It is important to note that our publishing house distinctly advocates zero tolerance, a healthy lifestyle, sincerity, love and respect.
As we have a defined program for publishing children's books with a strong experiential and moral message and with emphasized didactic elements, we consider that our books will have a programmatic positive influence on the building of a child's character and cognitive abilities, in turn building up society as a whole.
